Thank you Softsoap® for sponsoring this post.

Spring crafts are such a fun way to spend time with your kids but they sure can get messy, especially when you get your hands involved like we did for this fingerprinted Snapdragon craft. Fortunately, we had a little help with clean up thanks to Softsoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ liquid hand soap.

Spring Art for Kids - Fingerprinted Snapdragon Flowers

My daughter LOVES doing projects with me. She’s always asking to work on an art project . . . with or without me. I know that if she’s asking to do a craft, I’d better jump in and do one with her or she’ll be climbing into the cabinet, pulling out art supplies, and next thing I know colored construction paper has been glued to every flat surface in her bedroom. Yep, we’ve been there.

I love hanging out with her and making art projects, not just because it saves my walls, but also because I know we are making some great memories.

With flowers blooming everywhere right now, I thought it was the perfect time to make these fingerprinted snapdragons. Snapdragons are one of my favorite flowers and they just look like spring to me.

Fingerprinted Snapdragon Supplies

  • White paper
  • Green marker
  • Ruler
  • Washable paint
  • Paper plate
  • Little fingers
  • Softsoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ liquid hand soap– for easy cleanup

Fingerprinted Snapdragon Instructions

Pick a few colors of paint and squirt a small amount on a paper plate. Use your paintbrush to spread a thin layer of paint. This is what you’ll dip your fingers in. You want the layer thin enough that you don’t have paint going up the sides of your fingers when you dip them.

Use your ruler and green marker to draw a few straight green lines on your paper. These will be your flower stems.

Dip your finger in paint (use two colors at a time for a fun effect) then use your finger to print tiny flower petals up your stem.

Fingerprinted flowers

Angle your finger slightly towards the top of the paper so your petals are pointing towards the top of the flower.

At the top, make one final fingerprint vertically to create the top of your flower.

Draw leaves on the base of your stem. You can use your marker for this or finger paint.

Now you have a fun spring art project . . . and probably super messy hands.

All the best art projects come with a bit of extra mess. For my daughter, that is definitely part of the fun.

Fortunately, we had Softsoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ liquid hand soap ready to help us clean up. It’s made with a touch of lotion so it not only leaves your hands clean, but soft too.

Soft Soap

When crafting with my kids, we put love into everything we touch. We won’t remember the projects we made but we will remember that time we spent together. Softsoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™ liquid hand soap helps put a bit of love back into our hands by making sure they are taken care of too.

It comes in three luxurious fragrances: Shea & Cocoa Butter, Aloe Water & Lime, and Orchid & Coconut Milk. My daughter wanted the Orchid one, because Pink.
